JON ROBERT
Update: Jon’s song “Every Time I Go Up” just played in the post-Superbowl Season 2 Premiere of NBC’s The Voice !!
With catchy hooks, expressive lyrics, and warm, impassioned vocals, Jon Robert’s song catalog takes listeners on an emotional journey between love and longing. Big guitars, epic strings, and a modern, clean production style, combined with a minimalist sound, have led to Jon being described as the ‘Diesel Jeans of pop-rock… a cross between Chris Daughtry’s middle of the road rock and David Cook’s sentimental-tinged folk pop’. And the public has taken notice. His songs have been placed in MTV reality hits “The Hills”, “The Real World”, “Gauntlet”, and “Newport Harbor”, with numerous other placements on MTV, Vh1, E!, and ESPN networks, as well as feature film productions, including the theme for major motion picture “Legendary” starring Danny Glover and Jon Cena. Jon’s most recent EP, Purple Heart Cadillac, debuted at #7 on the iTunes Top Singer/Songwriter charts globally.
Jon Robert has been churning out pop-rock gems for the past five years. Having performed over 400 shows to crowds nearing 18,000, Jon Robert has shared the stage with industry heavy hitters such as John Mayer, Maroon 5, James Blunt, Counting Crows, The Jonas Brothers, The Police, Elvis Costello, Parachute and an opening slot for teen pop sensation JoJo. Becoming a notable force in the industry, Jon was selected as a Top 5 finalist in the MySpace Records ‘ROCK THE SPACE’ Competition from over 350,000 artists on the social networking site, and was named MTV’s “Artist of the Week” on MTVU.com.
Hailing from the small coastal town of Ipswich, just outside of Boston, MA, Jon writes with his heart on his sleeve, covering the full gamut of relationships and relationship issues, allowing his songs to have broad appeal, yet remain personal for each listener. “I like to think of myself as a conceptual storyteller, in whatever form the story dictates. Not branded as this or that.”
‘Purple Heart Cadillac’, was released July 14, 2011, featuring guest musicians Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Vertical Horizon) and Victor Indrizzo (Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow) and was produced by Andrew Dixon (Colbie Caillat), mixed by Jeff Juliano (Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz) and mastered by Brad Blackwood. New single “Every Time I Go Up” is currently spinning on Boston Radio station Cool 102 FM.
